Pickleball for Everyone

Welcome to Aldershot and Farnham Pickleball Club website.  A club setup to bring the joy of pickleball to as many people as possible in and around the area of Aldershot and Farnham.  In late 2024 Sport England officially recognised pickleball as a sport and awarded Pickleball England as the national governing body.

What is pickleball?

It’s played on a badminton-sized court with a tennis-style net, and players use solid paddles to hit a plastic ball with holes. The game can be played as either singles or doubles.

Key Features:

Court: A badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net.

Paddles: Solid paddles, similar to ping-pong paddles but larger, made generally of composite materials.

Ball: A perforated polymer ball, similar to a whiffle ball.

Play: Players volley the ball over the net, with the ball bouncing once on each side before being volleyed.

Rules: Simple rules, including a “kitchen” (non-volley zone) near the net where players must let the ball bounce before volleying.
